I have the same problems.

Compiling my program with PPL v1.53 Pro works correct. With 1.6 I get similar errors like Helen.

For example:
[Proc or Func "BUTTON_GET" not found at 'āBUTTON_GET' (4,7)]
[Proc or Func "PROGRESSBAR_SET" not found at 'āPROGRESSBAR_SET' (2,3)]

Best Regards

Jupp

By the way. Merry Christmas and hopefully a happy new year to all PPL users.

please have also a look at registry.ppl, you can run registrytest.ppl to get the corresponding errors.

Working on these issues right now.

I have fixed the ~ operator issue in registry.ppl.

Now working on the linker/namespace issue.

There will be a few fixes in PIDE as well.

Will have 1.61 release today.

Thumbs up Errors in PPL 1.61

Hi Kornalius,

first of all thanks for providing PPL 1.61 so fast. It does install without problems and is really very fast (compared to PPL 1.53) and all the errors described above are gone. But... When I run my program that I have developed with PPl 1.53 under PPL 1.61 the menu bar at the bottom of the window is gone. Instead the windows mobile 5.0 menu bar with the buttons calender and contacts are visible. Also the "exit cross" on the top menu bar is gone. And it appears that PPL 1.61 changes the font. The names of the buttons for example are now bigger and don't fit into the button frame anymore. I did a test with a new PPC windows ppl project under PPL 1.6.1 and all the menu bars from the windows template are displayed correct and are working. This strange behavior only appears with 1.53 PPC projects. The Intel PC projects are working correct (except for the fonts).

I really appreciate what you are doing and that arianesoft provides PPL 1.6x for free. I am really interested in a good running PPL version 1.6x. So this is not a criticism because of the errors in the new version. This is pretty normal.
So I hope you are going to support still for a while.

Best Regards

Jupp

Hi,

We will be supporting PPL 1.6x for a while because PPL 2.x share the same compiler/interpreter base code with some enhancements.

Please send me the project in 1.53 (to support@arianesoft.ca) you have mentioned I will test it out here. As for the font issue, it could be due to a change in the NewFont function which calculates the size of the fonts more accurately. The default font needs to be smaller if I remember.

Hello,

It also seems that e.g.:

func bmRight_OnLeftButtonDown(hWnd$, Msg$, wParam$, lParam$)
HandleEventParms
SendMessage(bmRight$, STM_SETIMAGE, IMAGE_BITMAP, Image_Load(AppPath$+{Buttons\Right_D.bmp}));
return (true);
end;

doesn't function anymore??

And the text color of Edit fields disappeared. After setting them to black again, it works fine. Other controls don't show this iny tiny issue.

After removing a ProgressBar I still get errors with SQL code.

Could it be the filename?? Like: s$ = sqlOpen(AppPath$ + "Wn.sql");

Greets,
Helen.
